Mercy Lamaro

Location: Ogul Village, Gulu, Uganda

Hobbies/Interests: Playing football, playing on slides and swinging

Favorite Foods: Beans, posho, rice and green vegetables

Mercy lives with her aunt and her eight other children in Ogul, Gulu District Northern Uganda. She lost her father in 2019 and since her dad was the sole provider for the family, her mother could not afford to look after her. 

Mercy now lives with her aunt. Her aunt is a peasant farmer and does not earn much and is already over burdened by the large family needs like food, home repairs and meet medical expenses. 

Mercy enjoys singing in Sunday school and dreams of becoming a police officer in the Uganda Police Force because she wants to serve her country and save lives. She is anxiously waiting for a sponsor  to enroll in kindergarten.
