Child Sponsorship
In the scenic village of Wi-layibi, Gulu district, lived seven-year-old Lagum Christabel. Though she held big dreams in her heart, life hadn’t been easy for her. Christabel lost her mom when she was born, and her father, hoping to provide her a mother's touch, remarried. Unfortunately, Christabel's new stepmother, Jane, was cold and unkind, plunging her world further into sadness.
Seeing her suffering, Christabel's father, John, made a tough choice. He gave her to her aunt, Abalo Margret, who took her in with open arms, becoming the mother figure Christabel had yearned for. Margret, despite her limited resources, believed in the transformative power of education. With her aunt's encouragement, Christabel went to school, hoping it was the key to a better life.
However, life dealt them another blow. With unpaid school fees piling up, the school told Christabel to stay home. This was a heavy setback for the young girl who dreamt of becoming a nurse and serving her community. She didn’t give up, though. Instead, she helped Margret around the house and with farming.
But Christabel’s story can't end with her dreams unfulfilled. Now, there's a call to action, reaching out beyond her village. This young, brave girl needs sponsorship to continue her education and chase her dreams.
