My Story

Meet Litisha – A Spark Waiting to Shine

In the heart of Ogul village, Northern Uganda, lives a bright six-year-old girl named Adyero Eve Litisha—though everyone calls her Litisha. Her days are filled with songs, drawings, and dreams that stretch far beyond the dusty roads of her village. She dreams of becoming a lawyer, a voice for the voiceless, a defender of justice in a world that too often overlooks girls like her.

But dreams are fragile when weighed down by poverty.

Litisha lives with her mother, Abalo Margret, a resilient widow doing all she can through small-scale farming and petty trade. With five mouths to feed and less than $20 a month in income, it’s a daily struggle to provide the basics—let alone school fees, uniforms, or the books Litisha so loves.

Litisha's school attendance is irregular—not because she doesn’t want to learn, but because survival often gets in the way of education. Yet even in the face of hardship, she continues to hope, to sing, to draw, and to believe in something better.

At Amigos Internacionales, we believe transformation begins with the heart—but it doesn’t stop there. Litisha needs someone to believe in her, to stand in the gap so she can stay in school and pursue the future God has planted in her heart. When you sponsor Litisha, you do more than meet physical needs—you speak life into her story.

This is our why: to be God’s hands through compassionate action and Gospel-rooted hope. Together, we can help Litisha choose life—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
